Prayer for the NHS

About us

We are 2 Christian friends who met at church, in 2021, and we both felt even before Covid that the NHS needed covering in prayer. We recognised the NHS and hospitals were struggling but were so thankful for the NHS – it is such a blessing.

I am an Occupational Therapist called Ruth and I work in Yorkshire. It has been my privilege to help and support patients for nearly 10 years. In that time I have seen demand far outstrip capacity and yet the skills, knowledge and kindness of staff, in most cases, giving care when under pressure, has been humbling and a personal experience for me. I worked in different wards during Covid and spent a lot of time praying on my own for our beleaguered staff and hospitals and the patients and people I worked with.

We both know how much the Lord loves us to pray to Him and cherishes the time we spend drawing close to Him, with all the cares and concerns we have, seeking answers and healing for those who are ill.

We hope this website will bless and guide you to pray for the NHS each day or each week. Together we will see answers to prayer and for the NHS to be renewed and function well, promoting recovery, health and wholeness.

Isaiah 41 v10 says
So do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Amen

Jeremiah 17 v 14 says
Heal me Lord and I will be healed, save me Lord and I will be saved, for you are the one I praise
Amen

These verses remind of God’s loving care and power – let’s join together to ask Him who is able to do more than we ask or imagine to help and restore our NHS.
In the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Amen
